Rescue 7

On September 24th, 2000, the members of the
North Boston Fire Company took delivery of their new 2000 RD Murray/
Freightliner Custom Dominion Series Walk-around Rescue.
After almost 4 years of performing a detailed needs assessment for a new rescue
truck, the finishing touches were being put on this well crafted piece of
apparatus. Built on a Freightliner low profile FL70 chassis and custom rescue
box, this piece of apparatus is a unit the fire company will grow into. Some of

The rescue vehicle is equipped with 4 Air
pack Seats, BLS First Response Equipment including AED, basic hand
and power tools for auto extrication, rope rescue equipment, cordless saws-alls,
farm extrication equipment, spare SCBA bottles, miscellaneous hand lights, multiple portable radios, fire
police equipment and firefighter rehab equipment. Also carried is an AMKUS
Rescue System, portable Telelight Generator, Command Boards and equipment
added monthly. There have been many more
specialized pieces of equipment added since acquisition that make this vehicle
very desirable to have at the scene. This unit is typically the second
unit out on routine alarms, behind Engine 2.
