Accidents Keep Firefighters Busy

County Chiefs Selections
March 25-West Seneca

The Erie County Fire Chiefs Mutual Aid Organization Awards Committee has finalized the recipients of this years awards. Firefighters associated with the cardiac arrest save in October were awarded EMS Provider of the year.
Live Fire Training

Subject trapped in rollover
July 13 2005- North Boston

Mid-morning commute ends in a rollover accident requiring 1 patient to be extricated from the vehicle. Pictured are North Boston Firefighters and Boston EMS.
Subject trapped in 2 Vehicle Accident
November 5 2005-North Boston

An evening collision brings rescuers to familiar scene to  extricate a patient  from the vehicle. One patient was extricated and taken to ECMC for treatment.
Steel City FOOLS Ultimate Training Weekend
September 23 2005- Pittsburgh, PA

Four North Boston Firefighters attended the Steel City FOOLS Ultimate Training Weekend in Canonsburg Pennsylvania from September 23-25 2005. The Pittsburgh Metro FOOLS, in conjunction with the WCFA, the Washington County Department of Public Safety, and the Bucks C.C.C. sponsored the  training programs.
Extrication Training- VANS
September 20 2005- North Boston

North Boston Firefighters honed their skills on a wide array of Vans procured through Lake Erie Towing & Recovery. Firefighters received their training Tony Schueckler-Fire Rescue Products-Certified Amkus Trainer.

November 1-North Boston

Members of the North Boston Fire Company and Boston EMS were recognized for their efforts in a code save of a fellow firefighter.
Fill 'da Boot for Kids Escaping Drugs
March 26-North Boston

North Boston Firefighters pound the pavement to raise funds for Kids Escaping Drugs. Money Raised was presented April 2nd on the KED Telethon. Firefighters raised over $1,523.00.
Western New York Firefighter Ski Race
March 18-South Bristol

North Boston Firefighters traveled to the Finger Lakes Region to participate in  the WNY Firefighter Ski Race, which supports the Finger Lakes Regional Burn Association.

North Boston Firefighters Honored

    The Erie County Fire Chiefs Mutual Aid Organization Awards Committee has finalized the recipients of this years awards. Once again, North Boston Fire Company brings home  winners in their respective categories. The awards will be presented at the Installation Dinner on April 2nd at The Lily of the Valley Banquet Facility in Cheektowaga.

Officials from The North Boston Branch of Evans National Bank met with Officials from the North Boston Fire Company to present them with a Donation to their organization.

Winter weather returns to WNY area

An afternoon commute turned upside down for a motorist on the Northbound RT219. An untimely winter storm passed through the area, dumping 3 inches of sloppy snow on the roadways. North Boston and Boston EMS were alerted at 1722hrs on the RT219 Northbound near the Zimmerman Road overpass for a vehicle accident with entrapment.

Rollover with Entrapment
July 13, 2005

    North Boston firefighters were dispatched at 10:02hrs to an injury accident on RT 219 Northbound at mile post 114.9. Initial dispatch information reported single vehicle rollover, Erie County Sheriff on location with one victim out of the vehicle.

Pittsburgh Metro Fools-Ultimate Training Weekend
September 25, 2005

Four North Boston Firefighters attended the Steel City FOOLS Ultimate Training Weekend in Canonsburg Pennsylvania from September 23-25 2005. North Boston Firefighters did not miss  out on this once-in-a-lifetime training opportunity in Western Pennsylvania.

 

Live Fire Training
October 25

Sunday September 18th and Saturday October 22, Firefighters from Armor, Newton Abbott and North Boston participated in live fire training. The Sunday session brought Firefighters to Erie County Fairgrounds to do evolutions through barn 10- where firefighters participated in over 12 burns in the mixed use structure.

First sign of an Accident
March 8, 2004

While en-route to work North Boston First Assistant Chief Sean Crotty came across an incident in progress. Traveling north on Boston State Road from Zimmerman Road, Asst. Chief Crotty noted a 4 door vehicle that entered his path of travel with what appeared to be an object protruding from the windshield.

Amsdell Middle School Drill

May 13, 2004

North Boston was one of many fire companies that took part in a multi-agency drill. Crews in Rescue 7 responded as a FAST Team to the Middle School Drill.

Upside Down you turn me
July 12, 2004

Rescue units were alerted to respond to a report of a garbage truck overturned on North Boston Road at Feddick Road. Boston EMS and North Boston drew the initial dispatch at 1318hrs, bringing Engine 2, Rescue 7 to the scene.

Rodney J. Carr was the Master of Ceremonies.  Began the program by reading the minutes of the organizational meeting held on September 30, 1904

French Fire Chief Visits area

After first contacting Asst. Chief Sean Crotty in March of 2001 off www.northbostonfire.com, Chief Robert Devred from Senas France visited Western New York Friday July 30th. Robert traveled to Western New York while vacationing in the Toronto area, Robert and his family stopped on the way back through from visiting New York City.

Fatal Motorcycle Accident

July 28, 2004

Boston EMS and North Boston Fire were dispatched to Zimmerman Road near George Drive for a reported motorcycle accident at 2349hrs. First arriving was A/C Crotty, who initially established command, and started a size-up, placing Mercy Flight on a ground standby.
