T-Bone with Entrapment
November 5, 2005

Saturday November 5, 2005 at 2134hrs North Boston Firefighters and Boston EMS were
alerted to an Accident with injury at
South Abbott Rd and Herman Hill Rd. The intersection
is no stranger to accidents. The Southbound Ford Escort 4dr entered into the protected
intersection and was T-Boned by a Westbound SUV coming down the hill, impacting the
escort on the driver side B Post. The impact forced both vehicles to travel approximately
65-70 feet, coming to rest in a car dealership parking lot.
A female occupant was reported as being trapped by arriving Fire Police Units.
Crews from Rescue 7 and Engine 2 set up the operation to do a total sidewall removal
of the driver side of the vehicle. Utilizing the AMK-25 H/D, AMK-25 E Speedway Cutters,
along with the AMK-30CX Spreaders, the job of doing the sidewall removal was
accomplished with-in minutes of the arrival of Rescue Units. The Patient was transported
to the
Regional Trauma Center with Non-Life Threatening Injuries.
