North Boston travels to
Bristol Mountain
March 18- South Bristol
North Boston Firefighters traveled east on RT90 towards the Finger Lakes to
participate in the Western New York Firefighter Ski Race at Bristol Mountain.
Firefighters from the Rochester area
coordinate this charity event to benefit the Finger Lakes Regional Burn
Association. This is the 3rd Year North Boston has outfitted 2 teams to compete
for the top spot. In years past, North Boston placed 2nd both times, second only
to Cheshire Fire Department.
This year, both North Boston teams were competitive, with
North Boston Team #2 securing a Top 10 finish on their first run. Navigating the
icy course proved to be both a
challenge,
and fun for both crews. Teamwork is what proved to be the key once again. Both
North Boston Teams finished in the Top 10- North Boston Team #2 coming in 7th place, and North Boston Team #1 topped
the field for the first time. The Crew of Firefighter Jeff Knowles, Chaplain
Bill Gross, Boston EMS Paramedic Jennifer Crotty, and Fire Chief Sean Crotty
turned in a time over 3 seconds faster then the rest of the field.
